Chittagong, Bangladesh is again experiencing turmoil as import and export transportation workers went on a 48-hour strike starting on October 21, resulting in container backlogs. Although vessels inside the port are loading as usual, the goods cannot be transported. Union leader Selim Khan accused two transport operators of breaching their contracts, failing to provide authorization documents and identification, and not meeting the minimum wage standards. Previously, Chittagong has faced multiple congestions due to internal unrest and system failures, severely impacting import and export activities.
