Recently, by the route adjustment, capacity growth and other impacts, Europe and Latin America terminal congestion intensified. Previously, some shipping executives said that Europe's largest port of Rotterdam due to labour disputes are now delayed congestion, is expected to be difficult to fully resolve within six weeks.
According to the latest report, the waiting time for ships in the port of Antwerp rose from 32 hours to 44 hours, an increase of 37 per cent; the port of Hamburg surged 49 per cent to 50 hours, and the port of Bremerhaven jumped 77 per cent.
On the other hand, the booming Brazilian market is adding to the congestion and capacity constraints in South American ports. According to data, the average container dwell time in Brazil's largest port, Santos, was five days (up from seven days in February), while the waiting time for ships at berth and at anchor dropped to one day each compared to two months ago.
