One of the key highlights is the deployment of larger container ships on the Asia-North Europe trade route, according to a joint statement from the shipping lines. A fleet of modern, energy-efficient containerships above 23,500TEU will replace smaller vessels, aiming to provide a more sustainable service by minimizing the carbon emissions of its service network.
In addition, another major upgrade will be the deployment of additional 14,000/15,000TEU container ships on the Asia-Mediterranean and US East Coast trade routes.
