In the second half of July, there are more empty flights on the direct flights

July 14, 2025

In the dynamic changes of the global shipping market, the situation of the European routes has attracted much attention. As of July 14, EMC has completed the update of the freight rates for the European routes. It is worth noting that in the second half of July, there will still be frequent blank sailings of direct ships on this route, and the shortage of shipping space is obvious. In view of this, relevant shippers and freight forwarders are advised to seize the shipping space in advance to prevent the transportation plans from being disrupted.

In the same period, COSCO has updated its freight rates to July 31. The second round of space application for AEU3 on July 20 has been closed, and it is now waiting for the forecast of the demand for the sailing date on July 26. MSC has also updated its freight rates to July 31, and the rates will be extended until the end of this month. In addition, starting from February 2025, MSC's relevant sailing schedules will be adjusted to Saturdays, and direct services to FXT/LGB/BRE/GDA will be launched at that time.

For the Mediterranean routes, EMC's freight rates will be extended to July 31. The CES/HKH/NCI shipping spaces are available for booking, and separate price applications are required for bulk cargo. After updating its freight rates to July 14, COSCO is also waiting for the forecast of the demand for the sailing date on July 26. MSC has updated the freight rates for the Western Mediterranean, North Africa and Eastern Mediterranean to July 31, and resumed the collection of overweight fees. Moreover, starting from WK14 of 2025, its sailing schedules will be changed to Mondays, realizing direct voyages to ASH/YAR/IST/TEK.
