At the beginning of 2022, more than 100 container ships are stranded off the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and there are about 150 queued ships in all ports in North America. At present, there are almost no ships queuing at ports on the Pacific coast, and fewer and fewer ships queuing on the East Coast and Gulf Coast of the United States.
Vessel positioning data showed that there were only 30 container ships waiting to berth near North American ports on Friday, with the number of ships queuing at all ports down to single digits. Among them, 25 container ships lined up at ports along the east coast of the United States and the Gulf of Mexico, about half of the number in late November last year and a quarter of that in late July. The number of queuing ships in other North American ports is equal to or lower than 2 ships, which has returned to the normal state before the epidemic.
