According to the Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI) released by UNCTAD, China ranks first, and South Korea and Singapore rank second and third respectively.
In the latest "2024 Maritime Review" report, UNCTAD pointed out that key global maritime channels including the Panama Canal, the Red Sea, the Suez Canal, and the Black Sea are facing severe challenges. Factors such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, and regional conflicts are threatening the stability of global trade and maritime supply chains. Specifically, due to climate impacts and regional conflicts, the volume of traffic in the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal has dropped by more than 50% from its peak. Although global seaborne trade is expected to grow by 2% in 2024, the above challenges still need attention.
